about

EP1 is a collection of songs written and recorded from 2019-2021. It’s not strictly a pandemic record per-se, though a lot of it was made during the pandemic. Initially, the goal was to make stuff for fun, just for myself, as an exercise to try out new ideas. Eventually, it became clear I needed to put it out in order to move on.

These songs were built in part using a variety of different samples I had or made including iPhone recordings, old 4 track cassettes I recorded as a teenager, and discarded demos. The concept was to get away from writing songs on an acoustic guitar, in the hopes of getting out of my comfort zone and coming up with new sounds.

I spend a lot of time working on other people’s music, so it’s been an interesting and informative process to work on my own. I’ve been learning a lot!

Thank you to everyone who listened to these songs along the way. I needed your encouragement.
